The latest telescope launched is the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The JWST was launched on December 21, 2021, by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA).

The JWST is a large, infrared-optimized telescope that will be placed in orbit around the second Lagrange point (L2) of the Earth-Sun system, about 1.5 million kilometers (about 930,000 miles) from Earth.

It is designed to study a wide range of astronomical phenomena, including the formation of stars and galaxies, the formation of planetary systems, and the characterization of exoplanets.

The JWST is considered to be the successor of the Hubble Space Telescope and is expected to make many groundbreaking discoveries in the field of astronomy.
