Introducing Bard, Sundar Pichai said the LaMDA-powered chatbot will be made available to the public in the coming weeks.
“Coming soon: Bard, a new experimental conversational #GoogleAI service powered by LaMDA,” Pichai said in a tweet.
Some details to watch out for , that we know , as of writing this article:
(1) It is powered by the internet giant's Language Model for Dialogue Applications, or LaMDA; for now, a lightweight model version of LaMDA will power the chatbot.
(2) Bard will provide fresh, high-quality responses by drawing on information from the web, and can also be used to simplify complex topics like Quantum, Space, Nuclear Science.
(3) Held as an ‘important next step in our AI journey,’ Bard, according to the Pichai, 'seeks to combine the breadth of the world's knowledge with the power, intelligence and creativity of our large language models.'
(4) For now it will be made available only to ‘trusted testers,’ and, in the coming weeks, to the general public.
(5) In order to make sure Bard's responses meet a high bar of quality, safety in real-world information, Google will take external feedback, and combine it with its own internal testing.

Since 2021 , there has been rumors , about Google working on a chatbot, powered by LaMDA.
Pichai said , 'Developers can soon try our Generative Language API, initially powered by LaMDA with a range of models to follow. Over time, our goal is to create a set of tools and APIs that will make it easy for others to build more innovative applications with AI.'
